
Coach Michelle is a Colorado native and has been working in real estate since 2003 with prior experience competing as a professional athlete. Some of her accomplishments include running three Ironman triathlons (twice at the IM World Championships in Hawaii), racing nationally with the Team Saturn Cycling team, racing for Team USA at the World Mountain Running Championships, and winning the Empire State Building Run-Up in New York City in 1996. In 1998, she transitioned into coaching. Initially, she worked as the Junior National Teams coach for USA triathlon while also personally coaching over a dozen professional athletes, including the US Men’s National Champion, the Australian Men’s National Champion, and the Chilean Women’s National Champion. Further in 2000, she was selected as the coach for the USA Olympic Triathlon men’s and women’s team for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. She was also named the US Olympic Committee National Triathlon Coach of the Year in 2000, 2001, and 2002. After the Olympics, she then ran the USA Triathlon Resident and National teams out of the Olympic Training Center until 2003. She was inducted into the Colorado Springs Sports Hall of Fame in 2015.
Coach Michelle enjoys the outdoors, virtually all sports, and spending time with her friends, family and especially her three young grandchildren.
