Coach Sarah Corcoran is a dedicated and passionate swim coach known for her exceptional ability to inspire and develop elite swimmers of all ages and skill levels. With over 20 years of experience as a coach, Sarah combines her deep knowledge of the sport with a genuine commitment to her athletes’ growth and success.
Sarah began swimming at ACES in Englewood, Colorado, where she achieved her first Junior national qualifying time at 13 years old. She excelled in sprinting and loved training for the 200IM. She earned accolades at a national level before moving on to compete at NCAA D1. She competed as an athlete at University of Denver until she graduated (2002) and transitioned into coaching at TOPS-CO, where her expertise quickly became evident. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes not only technical proficiency but also mental resilience, teamwork, and the joy of the sport.
Throughout her career, Sarah has worked with diverse groups, from beginners discovering the joy of swimming to high performance athletes aiming for the podium. Her coaching style is characterized by innovative techniques, goal-setting, and a creative environment that fosters both individual and team achievements.
In addition to her coaching role, Sarah is certified in Structural Integration and instructing yoga. This framework contributes to her holistic vision of body mechanics, movement analysis, and how that applies to swimming technique. Her commitment to excellence in high performance and her passion for swimming make her an invaluable asset to PPA.
In her free time, you will find Sarah challenging her own mindset and resilience in rock climbing, hiking fourteeners with her dog, Lola, and studying how to uplevel communication.
