Demetra, or D for short, graduated from Western Colorado University in 2024 with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, emphasizing Psychology. While at Western, she was also an active member of the Swim and Dive team. In May 2025, she will complete her Master’s in Elementary Education with a focus on Teacher Leadership. Currently, she is a kindergarten teacher and absolutely loves her role.
Demetra’s journey with swimming began at the age of 5, and she quickly developed a deep passion for the sport. By the time she was 12, she started coaching and teaching swim lessons, and swimming has remained a central part of her life ever since. As both a coach and an educator, her goal is to inspire young swimmers to build their skills, confidence, and love for the water, all within a supportive and positive environment.
She is excited to continue her journey in both education and swimming, looking forward to the opportunity to work with swimmers of all ages and skill levels.
