Coach Brett

Coach Brett brings over 25 years of experience coaching, with an expertise in athlete development and program building. He is a Div I swimmer and graduate of the University of Maine with a B.S. in Kinesiology, Coach Brett has dedicated his career to helping swimmers reach their full potential at every level.

From 1998 to 2000, Coach Brett served as an Assistant Coach for the Portland Porpoises Swim Team in Maine, where he had the privilege of assisting in the development of athletes—including an Olympic gold medalist and world record holder. In 2000, he transitioned to the North Jeffco Swim Team (NJST) in Colorado, where he spent 22 years as Head Coach and Vice President. Under his leadership, NJST achieved USA Swimming Silver Medal status for seven years, with multiple Junior National Team top 10 finishes, a 3rd place boys team at Junior Nationals, ten top 10 finishes at Sectionals, three Senior Zone Championship teams, and 1 State Title.

Throughout his career at NJST, Brett coached multiple athletes at four Olympic Trials and developed 30 top 10 nationally ranked swimmers, 25 state record holders, and dozens of Junior National finalists. His impact on the program was recognized with two Colorado Swimming Senior Coach of the Year awards, and he served on the LSC Board of Directors for eight years, including four years as the Senior Chair. Additionally, Coach Brett was the founder and Head Coach of the Junior National Camp at DU for 15 years.

In 2022, Brett made the move to Knoxville, where he became the Head Site Coach & Program Development for ACAC Swim Team, focusing on team growth and recruitment through coaching the team, clinics, high school, middle school, summer club programs, and private coaching. Through his side business, Swim-Synergy.com, He also offered personalized video analysis and small group lessons, further expanding his coaching impact in the Knoxville community.

Coach Brett’s philosophy is rooted in technical excellence, mental toughness, and the development of well-rounded athletes. Their ability to nurture both individual growth and team success has shaped many swimmers into leaders both in and out of the pool.
